hmm, that's weird. Maybe try a different build from graphicall? Is this a screenshot with the texture for fade-out already applied?

Hi. This halo effect at the end is looking very nice. But how did you do that?

I know this option is under "Render" in Particle Tab, but why it looks so good?

In other words: what exactly did you do?

Hey Ernie: You could duplicate the object at the frame where the dissolving begins. Then apply the armature on the duplicate and hide the original one. Here's a tutorial for the latter: http://cgcookie.com/blender/2011/03/04/tip-animating-an-objects-layer-relationship-2/

Is it possible to delete the armature? Or to just make the head explode?

  • Comment Link Gottfried Hofmann Wednesday, 28 December 2011 13:12 posted by Gottfried Hofmann

Ernie: Seems like this effect is not working with armatures...

Hello, I just started using blender and I recently made my first aniimation. However, when I used your tutorial, I only got up to 15:50 when I realized I had messed up. Can you please tell me what happenned? When I play it, everything works fine, but when I get to the part where the object has to explode, It just gets covered in particles, and does nothing else. Do you have any idea what happenned? Here is the download page: http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?9b3vo33nq8s64m6

Hi Gottfried. I purchased your tutorial at cg tuts for the text a while back and it was great. Only thing is now I have up graded to blender 2.59 and when I re-face the text into an object it no longer works as it should it looks almost like bathroom tiling instead of nice and smooth at the start. I was wondering if you have similar problems in 2.59?
