Written by  Gottfried Hofmann
Campus Party 2012 in Berlin will feature Blender talks and workshops. If you'd like to join one of Europe's biggest events on tech and open culture, BlenderDiplom got 30 tickets to spare.

BlenderDiplom is excited to announce that 30 Blenderheads will be able to attend Campus Party 2012 in Berlin for free. So what is the Campus Party?

Campus Party is a mix of Demo Party, 24/7 hackerspace and open source conference. From August 21 to 26, 2012, thousands of tech-savvy geeks will meet at Berlin Tempelhof (expected are about 10.000). The program consists of presentations, workshops and contests, just like the Blender Conference but for all open source and open tech topics. Speakers inlcude Tim Berners-Lee, Paulo Coelho, Jon "Maddog" Hall and of course Blenderheads.

Frederik Steinmetz from BlenderDiplom will talk about the adavantages of Blender and how to integrate Blender into common pipelines alongside 3D Studios Max, Maya and others, hold a 2 hour Blender modelling workshop and present Bioblender. Carsten Wartmann, author of the German Blender-bible "Das Blenderbuch" will talk about the history and current development of Blender.

The list of past speakers is also impressive, for example Stephen Hawking, Neil Armstrong and Al Gore were speakers  at previous Campus Partys.

Oh, and there will be a screening of "Heart String Marionette" by MdotStrange!

Gottfried 'Scott' Hofmann has discovered Blender for himself when the first alpha of revision 2.5 was released. From the very beginning he was mainly interested in VFX-related aspects of Blender like the smoke simulation. Since then, he has accumulated quite some knowledge in that field which he now shares with the community through BlenderDiplom.
