Astonishing Blender Effects Compilation

Written by  Gottfried Hofmann

Daniel Widmann aka Nion has released a compilation of effects created in Blender 2.5. All of them show off the capabilities of the latest version of Blender. Houdini beware!

The effects are both astonishing and inspiring. Nion really proves that Blender is now mature enough to be considered for cutting-edge particle animation. He also was kind enough to add annotations to the videos which should help you understand how the effects have been created.  Make sure to watch them both! You might also want to check out his homepage Project Nion and leave a comment there if you like it.

Gottfried 'Scott' Hofmann has discovered Blender for himself when the first alpha of revision 2.5 was released. From the very beginning he was mainly interested in VFX-related aspects of Blender like the smoke simulation. Since then, he has accumulated quite some knowledge in that field which he now shares with the community through BlenderDiplom.

Hallo Gottfried, weißt du wie Nion diesen genialen Suzanne-Vertrocknen-und-Aufbrechen Effekt erreicht hat? Das versuch ich schon seit längerem

    Hello zcgiworks,
the effects are not by me but by a cool guy named Nion. I just will produce tutorials for all of them. For the halo at the end he has already a tutorial which you can find here:
